Physical Education & Sports

The Sports Department of our college plans, undertakes and manages the sports related activities. It is headed by the Director of Physical Education and sports committee.

Dr. Gurunath Pawar is presently holding the reins of this Department as its Director. Under his planning and execution, the college has a good sports atmosphere and provides sports facilities to the students.

The Sports Department promotes sports by encouraging participation of our college girls in the intercollegiate events organized by the Pune City Zonal Sports Committee of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

In addition to this, the college organised Inter-collegiate Fencing competition on a regular basis. Mr. Gurunath Pawar was appointed as Inter-collegiate Secretary of Pune City Zonal Sports Committee of SPPU in the year 2016-17.

Our college inspires and motivates girls to participate in various sports activities such as Volleyball, Netball, Cricket, Ball-badminton, Athletics, Fencing, Badminton, Softball, Boxing, Swimming, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho. We are very proud of our students participating in Zonals, State, Nationals, Inter University and International level.

Apart from these, the college has also exhibited best performance in Fencing, Cricket, Netball, Ball badminton, Kho- Kho, Athletics- 5km Walk, Long Jump, Triple Jump in Inter-Collegiate competition.

On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, College organises yuva saptah for developing sportsmen spirit and competitive attitude. It includes Annual sports Intra-college (Inter-class) sports competition ( Krida Mahotsav) on a grand scale. The events are Tug of War, Badminton, Throw Ball, Tennis Cricket, 3 km Pervati climbing, Shot-put and Discus Throw.

Every year on the Sports Day, the Annual prize Distribution programme is organized to felicitate the sports talents of our college. Sports personalities are invited to grace the programme.

Gymnasium

A Gym helps students to be healthy, physically fit and active. It also helps them to maintain their physical and mental health. This facility is available in the college for our students from 7.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The Gym is well equipped with the latest equipment including stationary cycles, dumbbells, treadmill, multi-gym apparatus etc. It also helps students to develop their sports skills.
